Who is Healthcare Supply?

Healthcare Supply (HCS) is a South Florida based family-owned and operated business led by two brothers, Joe and Andrew Stave. Born in Philadelphia, the Stave’s moved south to Florida in the summer of 1993. Then a year later Healthcare Supply was born, launched by Joe and Andrews’ parents Marc and Shelly in 1994. 

Over the next 27 years, Marc and Shelly ran the day-to-day operations and grew the business from the ground up. Initially, in those early days, earning new business was very difficult in such a hyper-competitive marketplace. And often, Marc and Shelly spent many days on the phone cold calling local customers and sending out mailing postcards to market the business, until eventually their efforts paid off and customers started calling back! Then, soon after hiring outside sales team members, virtually all of Palm Beach County seemed to know about Healthcare Supply and the great service we provide.

Swiftly, they joined a buying group, known at the time as United Dental Dealers, which is now called National Distribution and Contracting (NDC). NDC is a group of independent dental and medical wholesalers around the United States who purchase together in order to gain purchasing power to compete against the corporate competition. NDC also allows these independent companies to purchase both generic and name brand supplies including but not limited to Crosstex, Sultan Healthcare, Shofu, Sunstar, Procter & Gamble, Metrex, Ansell, and Medicom to name a few. 

Around 2002, Joe joined HCS and worked both inside the office on the marketing and advertising teams as well as as outside sales representative in the field. During this time, he became an expert at knowing and identifying dental supplies and was better able to help his customers daily. Andrew joined the team eight years later in 2010 strictly as a territory representative. Right away he excelled and the company took another step forward; not only by gaining more customers but also because Healthcare Supply was able to work with manufacturers directly that may have not been included in the NDC purchasing group. 

With persistence and years of patience, more and more prestigious manufacturers have taken the opportunity to partner with Healthcare Supply as a trusted distributor including but not limited to GC America, Coltene, Premier, SS White, Meisinger, DMG and PDT.  HCS takes as much pride in its relationships with manufacturers as it does with the end user.

In fact, customers always ask if they would receive the same end user promotions like the corporate competitors, and the answer is yes! Plus, Healthcare Supply submits all paperwork in order for you to receive the free goods. 

At the end of 2021, Marc and Shelly passed the reins onto their two sons who happily purchased the business. Joe and Andrew hit the ground running by starting HCS e-commerce website and fully digital and paper marketing campaigns. Together, these two brothers want to continue the dream of their parents, “To offer dental professionals quality products, at a low price, with great service.” 

Today Shelly continues to work as a customer service representative. She loves talking to customers on the phone and helping them find the right product or solution for their everyday needs. Marc retired and is enjoying time helping on the board of his homeowners HOA. But still manages to bring his business and operational managerial skills to the table while heading the purchasing and landscaping committees as well as many others.
